I am in love with the just-released LD Tuttle AW11 video. Why did this come out now? No idea. But it's so cute and quirky and beautiful and black and white, not to mention that they're one of my favorite shoe makers. Well done!

Nick Cave Exhibit

Enter the world of Nick Cave

A world where costume design deviates completely from the human form and takes one of unearthly stature, and is somehow still wearable. Well, wearable being used quite loosely. Nick Cave, a dancer, sculpture and performance artist from Missouri challenges your idea of costume design with the beautiful monsters he brings to life. All of Cave's pieces show off his masterful embroidery skills, awareness of fabric and form, a staunch dedication to his work as well as his wit and sense of humor. When faced with his creations, you truly notice the meticulous crafting and complexity behind each figure. Walking through the exhibit had me lost in an otherworldly where-the-wild-things-are dream sequence.

Capsule

If you don't know what Capsule is, it's a fashion trade show that somehow manages to showcase my favorite independent designers. It's magical. I spent last Saturday there walking around, meeting fabulous people and pretending I'm far more important than I actually am. Everyone was so nice to me which I appreciated so much. The show included three floors of designer's stations- a lot to see, but not too overwhelming. I felt so privileged getting a sneak peak at the designers' SS12 collections!
